For that kind of money there is far better out there, and lets be honest, you could make that yourself for less than $30 and i bit of thinking...!!!
I honestly think it isn't a bad idea, I could certainly use one, but the cost is way up there.
Kevin137, you might be right that it is possible to make a stabilizer yourself for 30$ but such a tool will never produce the quality of footage you get any professionally produced stabilizer (be it LUUV or another one).
Also, you can use LUUV with any camera up to 500g (with any current model and the ones availble in the future) and switch cameras within minutes when applying one of our recommended setups you will find on our website. If you're using the same cam all the time, you can even detach it in the meantime and click it onto LUUV the next time with no need to balance it again (Plug&play). With every other stabilizer you'll have to balance a cam for up to an hour. Also, LUUVs up&down - mode offers unique filming angles, the design increases the windstability significantly and the professionally produced high-precision 3D-printed shell which covers all mechanical parts -designed after months of developing and applying iterative optimization processes - makes it robust and durable. Even stabilizers sold for 500$ and more don't offer you these kind of features, let alone a DIY steadycam.
Of course a high demand will have positive effects on the price but I hope, this background info helps you to better understand our price positioning and the features LUUV offers.

If the price for that is reasonable, it all becomes a mute point, as you have the stability the view point you can't get with hand held and a toy all roles into one which is far more useful and interesting...
I love my toys, have lots of them, lots of useful and useless, the one thing that i will say though, is that cost is something that has to have value...
And i just do not see the value in this when it can't hold anything other than what is an Action Camera...
You will sell a fair few i am sure, but it won't catch on and make you rich, of that i have no doubt... Just trying to be positive at that price point, you will get what you have on your startup, and that will be the end of it as i see it...
The other thing you have to remember is that the way tech moves, and with 360 degree cameras readying themselves to hit the market, this will again become obsolete, as you mount on a helmet and get complete view with stability...
The other thing is, any decent editing software nowadays will have good image stabilisation, i film everything, have 4 cameras, and have never had this issue...!!!
