Default Wax WHIZard?

I was just ordering some new wax from Tognar today and noticed this device called the Wax WHIZard for sale on there: WAX WIZARD

I was thinking this may be nice to bring on my trips out to Colorado since I usually go for 7 - 10 days and this could make for a convenient mid-week wax in the hotel room. Have any of you used this? The basic premise is you crayon the wax on your board and then rub this cylinder on the board which causes friction and melts the wax into the base. Sounds plausible, but is it too good to be true?

I'll likely pick one up and give it a go. Just figured I'd check first to see if anyone on here has used it with any luck.

I think snowdogwax made a version of this that he says works pretty well. I believe he sells it on his site. Its hard to see the results in his video but it didnt "look" bad. Im not sure how the cylinder works compared to snowdogs his basically looks like a wooden block and slides. I dont really see how a rolling tube will work better.

This product is the same concept.. Stopped marketing it because one bar of wax could last 2 or three seasons at 50 wax job's each year. Still have 8 left and will stop selling them when gone.

That said Wizard is OK..

Cool, thanks for the info. I already ordered the WaxWhiz before I saw this response. I'll follow-up once the season starts with my impressions of it.

So,.. If I understand this! You invented, marketed and were selling a product that you discovered could essentially put you out of business selling wax?? Not trying to be a dick or anything but,...

...Whoopsy!!!!
…That's not good!!!

Quick update on the Wax WHIZard since I was able to use it last week while I was out in Colorado and was really happy with the results. It's a great way to add some fresh wax to your base in the morning before you leave the hotel room. I would still recommend doing a hot wax and scrape when you get home from your trip.

The process is pretty simple. You can simply crayon the wax on the base of the board pressing it down firmly while you cover everything. Then you take what is basically a PVC cylinder with a cloth material wrap over it and rub it back and forth to generate friction and heat up the wax. You need to put some elbow grease into it, but it was relatively easy. Once you go over the entire board, you can then take a scotch brite pad and go over the base like you would after doing a normal hot wax. Now you're ready to ride!

I was impressed at how little wax you use and how portable the thing is...really easy to throw in your gear bag. I give it a thumbs up for a simple and effective way to refresh your wax while you're on the road.

Great to hear both Colorado trip and Wax WHIZard was a good one.

Been in Colorado the last 3 weeks 2 more left.
For me Colorado is first time ever.

Awesome! I bet you still can't wipe the ear to ear grin off your face after a nice pow day like that. I only got 5 days in this trip, but I'm heading back out there over Christmas for another 10 days. Hopefully I'll get to ride in some deep pow like you did. I had one day of fresh pow on this last trip, but not quite as good as you. The conditions were still great for November and any day riding is a great day for me.

The day we left Breckenridge for Copper the snow started and did not stop 16" later will be seared memory as the first EPIC pow day, mind you 8" BRECK was great also... What a great way to spend Christmas enjoy.. hope there are some pow day's waiting for you.
