It has been a long time since I last snowboarded (about 15 years). Back then I had a jacket that had a butt flap- not sure what to call it, but it was anorak style and was shorter in the front, longer in the back (covered my butt, great for falls). Does this style have a special name? I'm trying to find a jacket like it online but am having trouble. thanks!

Almost all snowboard jackets have a snow skirt. A piece of light fabric with elastic that closes tightly around your waste. Also most brands have an attachment system so that the skirt will connect directly to your pant's waist. My Special Blend jacket and pants connect via 4 heavy snaps. My friends Burton jacket and pants have a zipper connection.

I think he means something more like this rather than a powder skirt under the jacket. The exterior of this jacket is cut lower so it actually covers your ass when you sit down. Here is a link to an example: Deprecated Browser Error
I haven't seen a snowboard specific jacket with this feature. Boathouse is the only company I knew off that top of my head that had these and that is because my college sports warm-ups were boathouse. Sorry I couldn't be more help. If I happen to find anything I will be sure to post a link here. |

Yep cubllsu8338, that is similar to what I was talking about, except the jacket I had (wish I could remember the brand! it got stolen at Seattle's airport way back when) looked more seamless, less choppy/square in the back...I'll keep scouring away online and hope I can find what I'm looking for- butt flap AND skirt. Just starting back this season I know I'll be on my ass a bit so the butt flap'd be nice.
