For me the only argument against it is backcountry use, if I'm spending money on a new pack(like I did this year) I want one with airbag capabilities.

I've never had much luck with the "one pack to rule them all" method probably why have like 10 packs between the girlfriend and I.

I use my Osprey Manta 30 as my everyday pack, its just too awesome to only take hiking.

Inside is a couple jars of herb, bubbler in a protective pouch, beats pill xL, change of clothes, 2headlamps, 2 pairs sunglasses, gerber, a bunch off other little shit and room for a bunch more, usually it has this stuff and its compressed.

Ospreys own.

I have a technical Black Diamond Speed 40 pack for climbing / riding
I will return the Osprey Flapjack I got, too big for me, but really well made. I love the REI return policy ;-) No question asked.

Just got the Patagonia Snowdrifter 20 from MooseJaw.

Yep. and board carrier. Extremely useful when I bring the powder stick to ride the carpet here at work.
I love to buy climbing pants I can wear at work. sneakers I can climb in and a pack that will smell of powder when I go back to work after a deep weekend. Now I just have to wait all summer.
