I'm not sure if i'm asking about something obvious, but does anyone have experience with this material? I couldn't find out what is it exactly, it feels like cotton to the touch but the manufacturer says it performs better than polyester. Is this a good choice of material for base layers?

I've only experienced it in very light weight summer t-shirts and pants. It feels great and dries faster than any material I've ever used. I often use a paper thin pair of coolmax pants between my base layer and shell bibs. It work well to trap the moisture from sweating, before it soaks the inside of the shell pants. This keeps the moisture from decreasing the breathability of the Gore Tex or whatever brand you use.
