Default First protections

Hello guys, now that I already have bought my snowboard, I pretend to buy some protections for a begginer like me.
I was thinking in buy a helmet and shorts. but I don't know how to choose a good helmet or a good shorts. I have seen this helmets
Burton red skycap 2
giro encore 2 matte
head rebel black
Pro-Tec Classic Snow Audio Force

and I have seen this shorts protection
Zolo snowboard protector pant
Pro-Tec IPS Men's Hip Pad
RockGardn CYA Padded Under Shorts
661 bomber shorts
Demon Flex-Force Low Shorts
Alpinestars MTB Bionic Shorts
Please give your opinions about a pair of good protections (shorts and helmet) for a beginner like me.
best regards

If you're going to get a helmet, the most important thing to remember is not to skimp on the cost and make sure its comfortable. Its of no use to you if you can't stand wearing it.

I've got a Red Hi-Fi. Very comfortable. Adjustable padding inside and with a ratchet type of chin strap. And its saved my noggin a few times when I caught that edge.

Look into the Red Hi-Fi....

I have a R.E.D. trace helmet which is comfortable and can also be used as a skate helmet and Demon Shield Low Hardtail Padded Shorts. I bought the shorts from xsportsprotective.com but they also have lots of other protective shorts too so you can choose. I don't remember where I bought helmet but you can probably get it at the-house.com or some other snowboard website. Hope this helps

Smith Variant Helmet - Adult 2010

This is the helmet that I use. Check the video that we have on there. It teaches you how to properly measure and fit a helmet.

If the Variant is out of your price range, look into the Smith Maze. Both helmets are very light, with the Maze being the lightest. Smith makes high quality helmets and I can tell you first hand that it protected me from a very bad fall. I am 99.9% positive that I would have been hospitalized if I didn't have it on a few weeks ago.
