What do you guys think of helmets with a faceguard. Like those they use in boardercross. They don’t seem to be very popular. Why don’t more people use them as they seem to be good for faceplants. Where are good places to buy them? Any recommendations?

A facemask might be overkill if you're just doing normal riding. I have enough problems huffing down air at altitude through my neoprene balaclava. I would only add a facemask for extreme cold, really risky terrain, or if I were about to get stoopid with attempts at tricks and stuff.
but yeah, the boardercross people crash often and don't always see it coming, so it makes sense to protect as much as possible |
