Default I'm in the market for a new jacket and pants..need some suggestions.

I'm looking for a shell jacket and pants preferably 20K/20K waterproof/breathability each. I'd like something that looks "cool" and isn't beige or black. Nothing attention whorish, just a cool looking jacket, so no crazy patterns. One or two main colors not counting zippers and whatnot.

I wouldn't mind getting a cool pair of pants of the same brand that zipped together. Kind of baggyish, but nothing excessive.

Any help would be appreciated. I just checked out some stores online to see what I liked and not a lot turned up.

Try the Burton Ak line..pretty good stuff. Defintely will meet your 20K need since they are all Gore tex or Gore tex pro.

20k stuff isn't as prevalent as the 10k or 15k stuff.

You could try taking a look at some of Ripzone's Trilogy line (::ripzone 09::). All the Trilogy stuff is 20k waterproof

I'll second the ripzone stuff. Both my jacket and pants are ripzone Core series from a few years ago. The pants were pretty snug for M though... I'm 5'7" and 160 so I've got a couple extra pounds on atm. Good on length but the waist is way to tight lol.

My stuff is on the lower end of their lineup but I've stayed WARM and DRY for the most part. On really warm days the pants would start to let water through if I spent to much time on my ass. I'm replacing the pants (wife ordered my 686 smarty's!!!) but the jacket is still doing the job great! Had a pretty cold day last week with 30mph winds and 15F temps and I was fine with just a longsleeve shirt and t-shirt underneath.

On another note, there are some CRAZY deals starting up on the interwebs right now! Keep an eye on GearScan.com - Outdoor gear deals in real time! I see pants/jackets on there quite a bit right now. Might be able to get something 50%+ off that's the real deal

Cool site, I'll be watching that. I decided to get the Thirty-two Alpha 3L jacket in Snorkel blue. It looked like it had the perfect fitment, since I don't like a coat that's too bulky. The pattern has a little bit of flair to it, which coulda been toned down, but hopfully it'l be subtle in low light conditions. I really wanted to get the Black Alpha pants to go with is, as they looked like they would have been perfect too, but as a whole outfit, it would have looked kind of ridiculous imo. Maybe not in person, but obviously I don't have the chance to see what it really looks like shopping online.

Should I have went for the pants too? No one in my area has them.

Yea, those black pants would look nice with that Blue. I usually don't do pattern on pattern, but those are very subtle patterns which is okay.

I got 686 jacket and DC pants.
686 gear is awesome.... i never get wet unless the snow travel from underneath.

i got 2 pairs of DC pants. They hold up most of the time. it only gets damp if the inside of my jacket is damp.
I spilled coffee onto my white DC with glow in the dark feature. the coffee just slides right off leaving no marks. I was impressed.

I have yet to try 686 pants, I am planning to get a pair next year. Anyone ride in them?
