How do I get rid of the smell?

Hey,

Its been a while since I washed my jacket and pants (Burton AK Swagger). I could not find any washing instructions on the clothing itself. Anyone out there know how to wash these things?

Cheers,
Traveler

I usually just throw my stuff in the washing machine with no detergent once or twice a season. Washing it too often will remove the waterproofing. They have tech wash detergents as well.

go to gore-tex website for outwear care instructions...
Washing Instructions - GORE-TEX Products

i believe AK is gore-tex. if so, the gore laminate works better with a bit of heat so wash warm, tumble dry, iron, blahblahblah, it's all there.
the dwr or water repellant coating will wear off over time no matter what so cares, but it's the laminate itself that provides the waterproof/breathability of your garment and it needs to be clean to do that best so don't be afraid to clean it.
if you must have that water repellant surface treatment (i guess it's cool to see the water bead off the surface), just use nikwax to restore the dwr, but honestly, it's not as important as keeping the garment clean.
