Manufacturer's pant sizes

Whenever I went boarding this past season, I used my buddy's snowboarding pants (Grenade Magoon Bib) and they fit great. I want to buy a pair of Grenade pants for myself, but not that same style. Does anybody think I'd be able to just pick up a different pair in the same size and expect it to fit, or do pant sizes usually vary from pair to pair from the same manufacturer?

They vary on the style of the pants, but there's not a major difference that I would worry about it too much. Now as far as different manufacturers, the sizes definitely vary from one to the other. I wear small in Oakley and medium in 686.

BTW, Grenade is not really known for high quality outerwear.

Best thing to do is go to the homepage of whichever company you are interested in. ( Grenade Gloves Inc. ) There are a few companies that you can generalize for example holden and airblaster tend toward the fitted side where nomis and tech nine gear is almost always big and baggy. Many companies however have multiple lines of pants and jackets each with a different fit ranging from fitted to big and baggy. Good luck to you.

I went on the company's website and looked at their sizing chart and matched that with mine. I bought Ride Madrona pants in Medium which came in today.. tried it on and fits great. I wear 32x32 in jeans and it said waist: 31-33 and inseam: 31.5
