Default Jackets Jackets Jackets!

Hey all, snowboarding season is finally here! Just need some real snow now haha

I've been looking for a jacket and came up with a few. I'll be riding at Mt. Creek and Blue Mt. most of the season. If time permits, I'll take a trip to Vermont with a few friends. Still pretty new at boarding so don't need the absolute best/hip gear haha

From reading around, it seems 5k should be the minimum in terms of waterproofing. I have a set budget of $150 and really want to spend as least as possible if it'll keep me warm and dry. I'm looking at shell jackets since I like the mobility. Last season, I wore my insulated Columbia jacket but that has a few holes and isn't that waterproof. It's pretty old at around 5 years haha

I like simple styling and something that isnt too baggy nor too tight. It should be able to keep me warm and should stay dry all day. I have black Ride snowboard pants I bought last year which are 10k and they seem to be holding up well. Stays dry for most of the day but gets a little moist towards the end if I've been riding all day and falling a lot. I'm about 5'9" and weigh 175lbs so I'm thinking size medium? going to try a few on Sunday to see what size fits me best. I prefer solid colors, white is ok but want to avoid if possible. Something blue would be best

These are what I've found. Most ones I like seem to be 5k waterproof. If you have any recommendations, let me know. They're not in any specific order.

Nomis Simon Signature $129.95

Bonfire Volt $139.95

686 Mannual Verse $139.95

Quicksilver Last Mission $129.95

thanks for the help!

I've seen at least one of those jackets on whiskey militia (the nomis I think). Check that out because you can get a lower end jacket for like 60 or 70 bucks.

It says it's a "whisky militia exclusive" so I dont think it's really worth $240 MSRP. That being said, it looks alright, and if you're only going to use it a few times a year who knows. You could wait for a different jacket that has some feedback, and if you cant find anything, the Gus will probably come up again.

Start checking some websites for last year's stuff. You can get better equipment as well has upping the waterproofing to 10k.

I personally wouldn't go less than 10k, although some say it's fine for places like Colorado.

I've been looking at both last seasons and this seasons. if i find something i like from last season, they usually dont have a size. the best i think right now is the nomis jacket. 10k waterproofing. just don't know if it'll get dirty fast.
