Default Another Old Gear Question - Pants/Jacket

So my pants are from 2001, they're 686 Smarty's and are in perfect condition. Has tech advanced enough to warrant new pants? I'm figuring I'm good with these but gotta ask. Also, what jackets do you guys wear? I'm looking for something with a removable liner that's ultra flexible.

Thanks!

If the pants have all the features you want (pockets, water proof, adjustable vents) then keep on wearing them unless you just want something new.

I got some Foursquare pants 2 season ago and they have:
Fleece lined pockets
fully taped seams/zips
Elastic 'glove holder' (which i broke on my first trip
Snaps to attach to a jacket (which are the wrong size and I never use)
Adjustable waist cinches with velcro
1 or two loops for attaching stuff

Nothing amazing. Between my pants and my jacket (both Foursquare), I actually have too many pockets and often have to dig through them trying to find stuff . They are waterproof and comfortable, which is the important thing.

Sounds good! Besides that one rip in the knee they look 100% brand new. Not a scuff, smear or anything else on them.
