Looking to get a new camera... have a gl1 with a few diff lenses i used for skating past while... i want something smaller though, preferably something i can toss in my coat pocket.. any suggestions?
i'm not about to wear a helmet cam... dont like the way helmets feel and rarely bring one with me on the mountain unless im after kickers or larger rails.

I got a Kodak PlaySport couple weeks ago and i love it ...



Image quality is good enough, and shoots full HD .. its waterproof up to 3meters, and pretty sturdy ..

Plus I ordered an Xshot today, should be here in a few days ...



it extends up to a meter ... its 29$

Much cheaper option that GoPro, but to each their own I guess.

playsport seems more down the ally i'm looking into... just wanna snap small footage together while im on the go, and still be able to throw it in my pocket and ride. i still have my camera[which i love] for other types of filming.. thanks for the input! gonna look into a playsport... despise the gopro.

why the hate with the gopro? Stick it on a monopod. Cant get more durable than the housing it comes in. The kodak one looks good too, but I like not having to worry with the gopro case. Especially when you can get the 960 vers. for under $200 and the full HD one for a little over $200.

gopro is awkward to hold in my opinion while riding. Also, it'll be used by myself/friend of mine filming both of us... no self-recording going on. so i want something im comfortable holding. he in fact has a gopro.....

Makes sense then. Just remember the gopros wide field of view helps with the shakiness, normal fov cameras wont look as stable.
