Lacing up (gloves on)
Does anyone out there possess the ability to lace up while wearing gloves? If I have to adjust my laces on the mountain, or even remove my boots to pull a pebble out, I have to take my gloves off and it's bloody freezing. Am I completely uncoordinated, are my gloves too big, or is this plain impossible to do?
I do like the look of SL and BOA systems, but I'm paranoid of having BOAs break on me during a powder day. |
Spring gloves make it a breeze. Also, if you tend to take your gloves off a lot on the hill and you need to wear Winter gloves, there are glove liners out there that have grippy palms which will fight off the cold and make any untimely boot or binding adjustment much more bearable...

Man up!

Glove liners of course! Is this a specific product or can I just wear my thin cottony gloves underneath?
On the other hand I suppose I could harden the f**k up... |
Specific product. Running gloves would work well too and they're usually < $10

I wear mitts and obviously cant do any lacing with them on but how often are you getting stuff in your boots? Once I get mine on they normally stay on pretty good. maybe your boots are a problem.

Maybe ask your "mommy" to tie them for you!:dunno:

Impossible, it like trying to sneeze while peeing.
Get BOA's. I got my K2 Darkos and lace them once and adjust the ankle as needed. Like Tachypsychia, I just lift my pants and tighten with gloves on. |

Anyway, although I always put my boots on before my gloves when I'm getting ready, I'm sure I could reverse the order if necessary. My Salomon F20s have a powerlace system that has a little handle for the laces -- easy to pull even with gloves on. And nothing needs to be threaded. |
