Jacket Leaks

I have a pretty nice looking snow jacket. it has all the features of a top of the line jackets. like a powder skirt, lots of pockets, and even RECCO. My mom bought it a long time ago and I don't remember how much it was. it's definitely a quality jacket but whenever it's a wet day (heavy snow, rain) the sleeves get drenched which is very uncomfortable. the label says waterproof 10000mm so it's supposed to be pretty waterproof. is this normal or should i invest in a gore tex jacket? Thanks.

the DWR finish is worn out, get some nikwax techwash and wash in waterproofing and make sure you put it in the dryer after you apply the waterproofing

This. There are a few products that will do the trick.I use Revivex.Just wash, spray it on then dry it.Good as new after.
