Hi guys,
Looking for my 'perfect' outfit and was wondering if any of you could help me. Seen this Jacket, DC Spectrum Jacket Snow Jacket in Red | Jackets | Two Seasons and really liked it but I'm not happy with the specs (looking more for 10k/10k+ as I'm doing a season, and yes I know that is designed to be more of a hoody/shell). So I was wondering if any of you could recommend me a jacket with a similar style (i was picturing bright red or orange jacket with black pants) but with good specs as well. Or, just link any style you thinks cool. I'm literally the most unimaginative person in the world and I want to get the outfit I always see on the slopes which I love/want. Haha, many thanks guys. Appreciate you taking the time to read this

Unless you are going through deep powder stashes, puking snow, or you ride in the rain, the water proof and breathability rating aren't going to be critical nor are the fully taped seams. I have a cheap 5k/5k hoodie type jacket from DC I wear most of the time and it works fine since there's not any pow out here.
Now, I keep a spare 20k/20k dobby weave nylon for the rare days it snows heavily while on the mountain but I've found it to be overkill. I just keep it on hand if I ever take trips up to Jay Peak or west where there's actually snow. |

Hmmm thanks for the answer. I think 20/20 may be a bit overkill yes, but I plan to do as much back country as possible so I don't think the 5k waterproof would suffice, and I absolutely hate sweating away in my coat and pants so 10k breath ability is highly desired haha!
Thanks for the answer though, and now post your snowboarding outfit! :P |

686 2.5 Smarty, 20k/20k, dobby nylon weave. If you want Gore-tex, you're going to be shelling out $500+ for something decent. I don't have access to back country or even powder, so the biggest concern for me is just warmth and breathability.
Pants 686 Smarty Original Cargo and Nomis Simon Signature Sagout pants. I wear the Nomis most of the time, they are warm enough. I don't actually like the liner system in the pants because it adds too much weight and I'm sized up with a belt so it just makes them sag down too far. I just like a shell and wear an Underarmour 2.0 under that. Cruising/Park jacket I just wear 2x hoodies or DC Unbound 5/5. Try the DC Nevado if you like DC's style but want a burlier jacket. Most of their team wear that when they are filming back country. |

I saw this jacket, too, in the TW Snow Gear Guide. Don't know how well it performs, but it looks dope:

Buddy cheers for the heads up on the Nevado jacket! Just found this, DC Nevado Jacket - Men's from Dogfunk.com and i think it looks immense. Can't find it any UK stores though and shipping in a major pain >: Do you happen to know if that's a new model or an old model (could be why I can't find it).
