Contour HD Mounting Problems

So I picked up a Contour HD on a whim now that they're heavily discounted since the Roam came out. Neat toy, but I'm having a hard time mounting it! No matter where I mount it, either on helmet or goggle strap, I always catch a half inch of goggle/helmet in the side of the frame. There's also no mount available that allows you to turn away from whatever it's mounted to, short of getting a full on suction cup ball joint thing, and I'm pretty sure this get up already looks too spec ops for my liking.

Any ideas for a DIY quick fix? Make some kind of wedge to put in and angle it away from the helmet?

closer to the front? what mount are you using? there are about 3 helmet mounts?

you could probably take a piece of double sided tape and stick it to the from of the sticker pad. it would kick the front out a bit.
