How are DC jackets? Shell vs insulated?

Still trying to pick out a jacket for this year. My last jacket was a triclimate north face and the zipper broke. Im in no hurry to send it back because it was super bulky. I have long arms and had to get an XL but am only 5'11" 185 pounds so it always feels like I'm fighting back material as I'm riding.

I was checking out evo and dogfunk for special, new arrivals etc. Found this: DC Falera Jacket - Men's from

Not insulated that I can tell. I'm sure the thickness of the fabric and waterproofing is a warming factor however I also normally wear multiple layers. I get pretty cold so I usually wear a tight base layer, then a long sleeved shirt on top of that made of poly or something non cotton, then a sweater made of wool THEN I wore my triclimate. I would be pretty golden on the lift and then sweat going down hill and waiting in the lift line. If I took a layer off, I would be cold.

I'm concerned that with this jacket, I'll have to add another layer..

any thoughts on this one or ideas for something ? 230 is about the most I would spend. Im willing to wear something ugly that is comfortable and cheap vs something that looks good, costs alot and doesnt serve my purpose..

I like the jacket though, especially all the pockets
