Question For Hestra Heli Owners

Do you ever treat the leather with balm?

I used my Helis all last season and the white is definitely dingy now. Also showing signs of tears. I think this is mostly from board grabs and grabbing trees though.

I would think good leather should be durable enough to handle this though. I love these gloves, but I'm very happy I did not pay retail for these. Seems too high maintenance for me.

I got over two seasons out of my Heli gloves. I did treat the leather once or twice over the life span.

Seriously though, it's hard to get more than a season out of any gloves. Especially if you are riding stuff where you like to drop your palm a lot. For warmth and dexterity, I really like 'em. Paying full price for a high end glove for snowboarding is not always the greatest idea. Gloves just don't last if you are snowboarding a lot.

i never had the help gloves but i work payroll on west coast and use the patrol gloves from them. they last usually 2-3 seasons and thats pretty good for grabbing everything with them. i treat them the end of the season with the balm from them.
