A good pair of gloves?

I've seen the glove thread here, and it was just way too many brands and models to sift through, so sorry if this is a repeat.

My first question is to get gloves or mittens? I've had much warmer experiences with mittens, but they are a bit annoying to take off on the lift and do other things. I would want gloves, but on a 10 degree (maybe less) night on the local hill when they were making snow, my fingers were frozen even in my dad's fancy gore-tex gloves that he had gotten off of an end-of-season sale. I'm afraid that any glove I get will still leave my fingertips frozen.

Also, which models are good to get? I would love to get some POW or Dakine gloves with thinner materials that would make them awesome for moving around, but even with the reviews, I'm shaky on them. I was going to get the Burton Gore-Tex mitts, but I've heard good and bad on them. My budget is $100 and under, since I'm sure I have to get some nice gloves for my cold fingers.

Thanks,
Matt

i was going to suggest something, but if your hads get cold that easily then my suggestions would not be applicable. But anyways i always go for Drop Gloves with goretex. they also make mittens, so check them out.

I have some Level half pipe gloves. Pretty damn warm and they have built in wrist guards.

There were a bunch of people complaining about POW gloves ripping on those forums not long ago, look that up.

I looked into Level and they seem pretty good. I'm most likely going to buy them at a store; do they sell Level gloves at any places?

I don't mean to bump or go off-topic, but what is your opinion of taking the padding out of a helmet and wearing a hat & goggles under the helmet? I tried it once and liked the way I could push my goggles up, but I'm not sure if it's completely safe. Also, I've had my helmet for around 2 years, is it time to get a new one?

+ 1 for level half pipe gloves. Also, i have poor circulation so i always have cold hands. I basically went to amazon and got 40 pairs of 10 hour hand warmers for 26 bucks.

I wasn't able to find them in a store, I ended up buying mine online at xsportsprotective.com
They sent me some coupons a couple days ago, I can dig them up if you want.
The also have free shipping over $50 and a decent return policy.

There is only one store in vail that carries them and that's the only store I've ever seen them in.

I visited a shop yesterday, and they had a pair of Level gloves, but there were none in my size. :/

What are your opinions of Pow Royal gloves or Candygrind gloves/mittens in general? I love the designs of the Candygrind and Pow gloves, but I'm not sure of the warmth...
