Very interesting, we need an index like this for every industry. Mainstream economics do not factor in the external costs to people and the environment, which DO have long-term value. Cropland destroyed from overproduction means indefinitely lost supply.

More importantly though, will anyone use it? I feel this index could be utilized by major manufactures to "Greenwash" buyers into thinking they are actually responsible companies. Certainly has been done before.

Yeah, hopefully there will be strict truths involved. I'm not sure what organization would be policing the SAC to secure honesty in the ratings, but at least this is an attempt to hold companies responsible for their actions.
