Input on DC Santoro snowboard pants

I need a pair of snowboard pants pretty badly since in the past all I've used is second hand snowpants from thrift stores and they suck. I've heard that DC doesn't sell the best quality snowboard pants on the market but I found a good deal on a pair of medium DC Santoro pants and I'm wondering if I should pull the trigger. They are brand new and selling for $42 and they retail for $230. The waterproof rating is 10k. Like I said, I've never owned a real pair of snowboard pants so I won't be spoiled on really nice pairs or anything. Also, I snowboard about 10-15 times a year on average. Are these pants worth this extremely low price tag or do some of the bad reviews just come from people comparing them to the super high end gear? Thanks!

$42 for a pair of new snowpants is a pretty good deal. My fiancee skied in a pair of DC pants last season and they seemed to work for her. I've never used them myself though.

I picked up a pair of Santoros last season from Whiskey Militia.

I really like them... didn't get a hell of a lot of time on snow last season but no complaints. And for that price... get 'em.

Cool thanks for the input! I ended up going for a pair of 686 Smarty pants in size small but if they're too small I'm gonna sell em to my brother and get the Santoro mediums.
