Looking for a solid jacket-pant system with features
Looking for a solid jacket shell with a powder skirt that attaches to pants. The pants don't matter so much since I'll just find a same-brand pair that links to whatever jacket I choose. I understand I have a lot of options, so these are what I'm specifically looking for in my jacket:
NOT insulated a lot (shell preferably) Waterproof & Breathable 10k minimum Powder Skirt with ability to link to pants Wrist gaiters Vents Zippered pockets (not necessary but a plus..) Media pocket Helmet-compatible hood Stylish but not too bold or busy Around $100ish I'm looking at the the green version of this: Special Blend Beacon Jacket - Men's from Dogfunk.com and also the Blacktop version of this: http://www.usoutdoor.com/four-square...ssic-jacket--/ However, I'm not sure on the quality from brand to brand at this $100ish price point specifically. For example, I know everyone loves Burton AK stuff but I don't hear many good things about their mid level offerings. What do you suggest? |
I shop OakleyVault.com for outerwear. I recently picked up their Oakley Shell Deals jacket for $100. 15k water and breathability.
Prior to that I picked up two pair of snowpants for a hundred bucks total. The Karn pants and the White Smoke pants. |
I've got an Oakley Sort Up jacket in white, 10k/15k for sale. It's got pretty much every thing on your list.
Here's a link to it if you're interested http://www.snowboardingforum.com/buy...-jacket-l.html |

Every time someone asks this question I assume they did not read the other 100 posts where I give the same reply. Sorry I got caught up in the TLDR and missed the $100. You could find a pair of last years pants or maybe ebay style for about $100. |

Actually, this is something I'm a bit self-conscious about because I want to rep this gear, but I don't want to do it so much that its a turn-off. I'm not sure what his official title is, but the guy who does Volcom/Electric/32 (for CO, maybe midwest..) is a good friend of myself and my small community. He does alot to keep us all in gear and stoked by including us in events and whatnot. In return I try to answer the the various outerwear/goggle/boot question with Volcom/Electric/32. I've had great results with all of it, and I know many forum members have as well. It's all better gear than I've had before. I'm so stoked to go use it! |
