Where do you guys mount your GoPros/Contours? Helmet cam video seems a little de-tached because there's no frame of reference, but chest mount moves around too much when carving.
I ran into this too, which converts your iPhone into a GoPro: iconic.am Kickstarter Probably not better than GoPro, but definitely cheaper and quicker sharing. |

I've got a Countour Roam. I have a helmet-top mount and a pole mount. Each type of shot gives me different information about my runs. I don't make vids for edits, just for self-education. If you're trying to do music edits, the best mount is a friend holding the camera and following you.

I rigged up a highback mount for my contour last year... Was cool for about half a run and then I started getting sick watching it.
Helmet mount is GREAT for following my girlfriend and shooting videos of her (or anybody else I'm boarding with) but it really doesn't do much for your own riding. I'm planning on experimenting with a pole this year (for the camera you sick bastards) eventually. One of my favourite things I did last year is put a tripod with the camera in a certain spot on the hill, then board past it a bunch of times. Got the idea from Casual with one of his park vids.
