Hi Guys, am after a helmet which is good value for money in the UK which either comes with audio built in or is easily convertible

I have tried the following which all fit well (Large head)
Salamon - brigade audio - XXL
RED - Mutiny helmet - XL
Giro - surface S - L

They seem quite expensive at £80, or is that just the going rate? (have never used a helmet before but going to be trying some new things this holiday so thought i may need one. Am going to be wearing Oakley Splices which are fairly big in my opinion if that makes a difference

Im also not a massive fan of the 'peaks' on some of the helmets

That's a normal price, if a little high, but everything in UK seems high on the price end. Buy on sale if its too high. I also have a massive dome and enjoy my bern watts xxL quite a bit.

Whatever you get , save up some additional cash and buy a pair of Skullcandy drop in speakers so you can have phone\tunes built in , just cut a small slit in your ear muffs and drop them in and sew it back up.

Or you can pay the extra 50$-100$ and get an audio helmet but I kinda feel like it's a waste of $$$ since the wires and speakers ALWAYS eventually wear out.

Somthing like these but I've seen them for like 25-30$

Hey, thanks for the suggestions

Are most helmets readily compatible with earphones like the skull candys or are there specific ones?

Another consideration for me is i'll be going out in sub zero temperatures (celcius) will just the helmet be enough? (never worn one not sure how warm they'll be)

The Skullcandy earpieces that Smith uses (and can be bought separately) are the best for helmet audio, and can be fit to basically any helmet.

Too bad helmet audio is shit, just use your own

Ah really? thanks for the heads up! any advice on something that will fit in the helmet to play? The inline volume/play/skip control is also a nice piece to have on the mountain really

Just seen the reviews on amazon and it doesnt look good for the Skullcandys!

Its worth it I can't stand having headphones in my ears while riding......major pain in the ass always dicking with them and have to take in and out.

I got a k2 rant from them with audio for 35 bucks. When i got it only one speaker side was working and so i emailed evo and they are sending me another free audio system to put in my helmet.
