Goggle help - Snowboarding Forum

I have been using the same Von Zipper goggles for the past five years and I think it's time for something new. I have two different ones that I can't decide between; Ashbury Kaliedoscope and Smith I/O. Can someone give me there insight on the two and which they recommend I get?

You're going to pay more for the I/Os (unless you really shop around, there might be cheaper sets on ebay).

I have a pair of I/Os and I love them. Easy to change out the lenses, Smith has TONS of lens and frame options so you can mix and match, if that's your thing. Plus, the I/Os just look SWEET. Functional and good looking. If you buy retail, you get a lens for all-around conditions/sunny days and a lens for flat-light.

I don't know anything about the Kaleidescopes but they seem like a solid middle-of-the-road goggle.

Smith I/Os are really popular, and for good reason. I could be wrong but I think they were one of the first really successful models to incorporate a lens swapping system. You'll see a lotta skiers and riders wearing these.

I have a pair of Kscopes and like them, I use them at night/flat light. They're inexpensive, don't fog up, and come with an extra yellow lens. The frames are nice and soft too.

I heard smith IOs are dope....and sheep seems to reinforce that.

I say, try them both on (if you can) and see which one works for you. If all things are pretty even but cost is a factor, get the Ashburys. Pretty good value.

If you'd take another suggestion, I'd like to also recommend Airblaster Airgoggles. They're my favorites. They don't fog no matter what stupid stuff I do with my goggles, they're comfy, SUPER durable (I treat goggles like shit) and are also inexpensive. The Baker lenses also don't lose their mirroring, if that's something you care about.

I would get the I/O they are really nice. The day and night time lens really do help. Just don't do what I did and buy the I/Os by accident.

...speaking of Airblaster...those goggles have been recycling on the Clymb the last few weeks. Chances are you'll see them again.
