Now that I am a father I am a bit more conscious about going out into the B.C and was wondering if anyone has one of these and how do you like them. I understand that the AvaLung should not replace common sense, nor does it make you a superhero or work in every situation. But in some situations it can drastically increase your chance of survival. The two packs I am looking at is the covert and outlaw, mostly outlaw. Thanks for any imput.

i have the Outlaw which i use when I'm splitboarding. it is much better than my BCA and northface snowboarding packs. BD really has a lot of background in this stuff. Everything is thought out thoroughly, from access options and storage to securing your gear. This is a great day pack option.

If you have a split it is pointless to use the snowboard straps. Just keep it in ski mode when booting a knife ridge or up a couloir.

I was thinking more along the line of how am I going to carry all my crap to the train station. Having that option to carry a solid makes my life much easier. Public transport in Switzerland is so good you don't need a car, although it would be nice sometimes, until your stuck in traffic.
