Help! Helmet size

Hi brothers,

I am going to buy my first helmet. I have a huge head, I have tried all XL of almost every brand in the local store, seems only the XL K2 Phase Team (barely) fits me, all other helmets were way too tight for me. Some of them were too small that I couldn't even put on.

However, I personally do not really like the Phase Team especially they only carry the orange one and that is the only K2 in the store.

I like the Rival/Rival Pro, so I am planning to purchase it online, however, i am not sure if the lining in Rival may make the helmet smaller even for same XL (looks like there is nothing inside the Phase Team except the EPS foam).

I wonder if any of you have ever tried the Rival and the Phase Team, any one can tell me if they are actually the same size or one bigger than the other?

Thanks a lot.

A helmet needs to be tried on before purchasing, they are different shapes and sizes across brands and even types...

It is not always as simple as just measuring your head...

I use a Sweet Protection L/XL and i think they come up big, but i use with a beenie under it anyway...

I know, that is why I ask and see if anyone tried both.
I need the helmet shortly, but since this is not the right season and my size is quite rare, i really couldn't find anything in local store that fits me. Buying online is the only option for me...

You can measure around the circumference of your head and get a rough idea, but as shapes are different you are probably going to have problems...

And what i wear, i found that the mips is not so tight because the design is meant to be free moving to a point, so tends to come up slightly larger, i don't know if that would be the same for all brands using MIPS, but worth considering...

Sizes
S/M (53-56 cm)
M/L (56-59 cm)
L/XL (59-61 cm)
