footwear

Hello,

I was just wondering what kind of socks i should be wearing when snowboarding? i was thinking that my dads white thicker cotton socks, would be okay cuz i could pull them up to about 1/4 my calf.
or would dress socks be okay? thats what i wearin my skates, cuz theyre thin, but im not sure.

thanks

-anything not cotton, it will make your feet cold and wet

-merino wool owns

I buy snowboard/ski socks from brands that make merino ones, and try to buy on sale: smartwool and teko are the 2 brands I have used mostly.

Cotton kills. Your feet will rot and you'll die.

Seriously though, sk is dead on. Get Merino or synthetic socks. Ones made specifically for snowboarding work best.

I used to wear Smartwool until I discovered Drymax. Drymax socks are amazing. Somehow they don't get wet when my feet are sweaty, and they wick away all that sweat so my feet stay pretty dry. AND non-stinky. It's like magic or something, they're so much better than all the other wicking-type fabrics. I discovered them as hiking socks but now I own all different types (running, dress socks).

(No, I don't work for Drymax . . . )
