Home made gopro pole mount
Gonna give this a try.
Items used are: 32" of 1/2 inch PVC pipe One end cap for the pipe Gopro helmet mount upper piece(unscrewed the 3 screws and separated the top and bottom pieces) 1 cotton ball All temp board wax P-tex A little brief on my idea... I want to use the upper piece of the helmet mount and insert it into the end of the PVC pipe. It fits perfectly in 1/2 inch pipe by the way. This will create a mount that is elevated a little from the line of sight of the pipe. The way I thought may work is to stuff a cotton ball about an inch into the PVC. Then melt just enough wax onto the cotton ball to form a seal of wax so nothing can leak past it. Next melt some P-tex into the pipe over the wax seal and fill about a half an inch from the top. Then insert the upper piece of the helmet mount whereas the volume of the helmet mount inside the pipe will make the P-tex come to the top of the pipe opening. Let it cool, solidify, and hold the helmet mount firmly in place. Of course there are other things you could use in place of P-tex, but that's what I have in my tuning kit and I'd like to try it. I don' know the binding properties of P-tex with PVC so any input on whether this would work or not would be appreciated. |
I'd like to make a GoPro mount with a Samurai Katana sword. Crashes should be interesting with that.
But seriously, I wouldn't mind making one with the handle of a sword. Great grip. |

You can use half inch pvc and the gopro tripod mount. I made several this way. The tripod screw is a standard size i grabbed some from home depot drilled a hole through an endcap and mounted the gopro that way.
