bored, but to put it in simpler terms modern day politics are so corrupt these days it hardly even matters who gets voted in. I was also semi-curious to hear the inquisitive folk try and sound important by stating their opinions on the current political agenda and there standing to the republican/democrats faults.

What a morbid view which can be pressed onto any discussion in which there's more than one side of the story. Perhaps the inquisitive should keep their opinions to themselves and the world could be quiet and obedient?
EDIT: I can understand that your a bit upset that someone called you out on your comment, but it really was a contradiction to posting in the politics forum. Sometimes it's best to save face.

FACT: Politicians have ALWAYS been corrupt......ALWAYS. It's not more now then it was a hundred years ago. If anything, it's much less. And that is why you SHOULD care about politics. It's a lot easier to dupe someone who doesn't know what is going on.
Now excuse me..... I need to find my rope to deal with that circus in Albany. We gunna have us a lynching!

Exactly! "Back then", it was a lot easier for them to get away it; now, thanks to some in the media who understand what their role in democracy is, they are kept under the microscope.
Europeans, as an example, are much more engaged in the political process than the average American and that is why in many ways, the people have more power "over there" We do not pay enough attention to politics and don`t stand up for ourselves enough. Complacency leads to the yoke of tyranny.

Yeah, it's a political cliche, but "all that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." Thta said, support local sedition. It's all that has, and all that ever will, change the world.
