Hmmmmm there may be more to this than meets the eye right now
Of all the rumors going around about her bizzare, rambling speech and her weird behavior and strange gasping breathing, this one seems to be gaining some momentum. With her past, this would not surprise me in the least.
Quote:
Did an embezzlement scandal force Sarah Palin to resign?
Max Blumental reports on The Daily Beast that Sarah Palin may have quit her job today because she was trying to avert a major, yet-to-be-disclosed corruption scandal. The gist of the rumor is that an Alaska building company called Spenard Building Supplies (SBS) was awarded a contract by Palin to build a hockey arena in Wasilla, AK, and in return, SBS helped construct Palin’s home:
Many political observers in Alaska are fixated on rumors that federal investigators have been seizing paperwork from SBS in recent months, searching for evidence that Palin and her husband Todd steered lucrative contracts to the well-connected company in exchange for gifts like the construction of their home on pristine Lake Lucille in 2002. The home was built just two months before Palin began campaigning for governor, a job which would have provided her enhanced power to grant building contracts in the wide open state.
SBS has close ties to the Palins. The company has not only sponsored Todd Palin’s snowmobile team, according to the Village Voice’s Wayne Barrett, it hired Sarah Palin to do a statewide television commercial in 2004

I was just cruising around CNN and found this to be kind of amusing if she really is planning on running in 2012:
Quote:
The speculation is that, rather than returning to being a private citizen, Palin aspires to the presidency. Good luck. She quit her job as city councilwoman to run for mayor of Wasilla. She quit her job as mayor of Wasilla to run for lieutenant governor. She quit her job as the head of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to run for governor. And now she's quitting her job as governor to ... be a private citizen? Right.

Holy, that is a train wreck!
What I still find a bit unnerving is the fact that I believe she will run for it in 2012...and the scary part is that I think there would be a size-able group of people that would vote for her. Which is an insult to all intelligent people out there.
Not like I think she would have a chance, the majority see through her, but it's just the fact that someone like her could be viable in any shape or form for the Presidency is astounding to me.

I was listening to Bill Press this morning driving home and he reported a poll taken on Tuesday. Amongst registered Republicans, 24% believe this stunt actually helps her for 2012.....
It`s a crazy crazy world...

I was talking with my wife's aunt and uncle about this. It was incredible to hear their take on this. My wife's aunt loves Palin and said that this is a great move so she can go for presidency in '12 because Palin is a very intelligent, strong women. They both thought this was a great move because it's obvious that she's NOT a politician and that she cares. HUH??!! I simply pointed out that this was a decision made purely politically and was not made by her but rather a team of spinsters. And that she IS a politician and she IS and idiot. I then brought up facts to prove my point... there wasn't much said after that except changing the discussion to the typical right wing talking points... and this is truly the argument I was given "yeah, but your son's children will be paying of Obama's bail out plan"... and my answer to that was, yeah, and my son's children will be paying for a war they never wanted and was mismanaged from the beginning. At least Obama's spending is spent IN the states to benefit the states, rather than spent on a war killing people in another country.
If the Republican party can't see past Palin to someone better, then so be it. But we still ahve 3.5 years left in THIS presidency. And I'm guessin' we'll be a lot better of in a couple years from now, and it's gonna be nothin' but a train wreck for the GOP. Good luck with who-ever they bring in.
