I read that some publicist or spokesperson of hers said she wasn't planning a presidential run, but I certainly don't believe it. Whatever she does, resigning from her current office cannot help her in any way that I can see. It basically looks like she's giving up.
I didn't see any of the press conference but everybody I've heard talk about it said it was pretty much a trainwreck.
But since it was clearly worthy of its own thread, you mind enlightening me?
But no pictures, seeing her blank smile makes me green and all roid-ragey...

Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice-presidential candidate who electrified her party's campaign last year, has resigned as Alaska's governor in a dramatic decision that has fuelled speculation she is positioning herself to run for president.
But after an at times rambling speech in which she compared herself to battle wounded American soldiers in Kosovo and said only dead fish go with the flow, Palin's critics accused her of a "flaky" decision and walking away from her post.
Palin, who built strong support among conservative Republicans as John McCain's running mate last year, said she will step down in three weeks because she can contribute more away from politics.
"We know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time on another scale and actually make a difference for our priorities," she said.
But Palin also hinted at continuing political ambitions when she repeated a quote she attributed to general Douglas MacArthur: "We are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction."
Just shows how absolutely narcissistic she has always been and is. She dumps her responsibility to the people of Alaska because SHE has more "important tasks" to HER. It`s a win-win though; the people of Alaska get a better governor who is`nt an embarrassment to that great state and we get to see her further destroy what little credibility she had left. I also enjoy the fact that she is another nail in the coffin of the Republican party....

I see two possible reason. 1. she wants to campaign for other republicans for 2010 and set herself up for 2012 and not be saddled with the "she never is home to govern" claims that would come with it. A wise move if she is looking to 2012. 2. Something big is coming down the rumor mill and she wants to be out of the way for it. She is a politician and like every single other politician regardless of affiliation or hell, for that matter, regardless of country a dozen shady deals are lurking in the shadows.
Wow. I never really know what to say about Palin. He speeches are like the journal entries of a madman. She has such a grandeur vision and yet so many shortcomings. I think she is a failure in every way and she's just continuing to demonstrate that.
I would LOVE to see her run for president again. I found it utterly hilarious last time. A bit scary when the race got close, but still hilarious.
