Arrow and so Obama wins the Democratic nomination...

Honestly not sure if I am 100% on this one, but lets see what he can do for us.

I am glad to see this. Obama stands the best chance to take back our country. Hillary, while she had some very good plans, remains too devisive a figure to get moderate Republicans and Independents to vote for here. Obama has more apeal to the moderates and the polls show he a lead over McCain. I think you will see that lead grow as the race becomes focused on McCain and the Hilary supporters understand the real goal of a Democratic victory to save the country.

On a side note, I have just finished reading a book by Obama called Dreams From My Father. It really gives the reader insight to where O mbama`s life has taken him and the reader quickly comes to understand this man is the real deal. He was born into poverty and has really experienced life as many Americans live and was not born with a sliver spoon in his mouth. It illustrates his background and gives the true story, not the right wing lies about him being Muslim etc. Any Obama supporter or undecided should check this book out.

The other that I am currently reading is The Audacity of Hope and it outlines his journey into politics and his ideas on the future. It goes into the "how" of his concept of change. Anyone with doubts or is unclear on the "how" of change should check this out.

I am very stoked about Barack Obama and I think he has the potential to truly be one of the great presidents in American history. I think the honesty and sincerity he displays give me the gut feeling of trust and hope.

I completely dissagree with your assesment. His background is a polar opposite of these dynasty politicians that are born into their father`s empires be it is in ploitics or in business. This is a guy who grew up in houses without electricity at times, lived in the Philipines in poor villages, Lived in Hawaii in very middle class neighborhoods. As a young man trying to get into organizing, he lived in one room rat hole apertments in Manhatten and drove a $500 car in which he could pack his entire life`s possesions into. You can`t really know this unless you read his biography.

Sure, he now has the power base of the rest and could indeed "forget his roots" but I just don`t get that sense from listening to him and reading his writing. Besides, I don`t see youe "McCain for the win" idea panning out. Too many Americans including Republicans have had enough and are willing to take a long shot on this guy and I see him maintaining a strong lead on McCain. I just don`t see someones as questionable as McCain wining against a man like Obama...not now, not after 7 years of the utter disaster the Republicans have created.

and i am sure that his childhood days will provoke the unwashed and impoverised masses to invest much trust and wishful thinking into any obama campaign and resulting presidency.

but... we are talking about his abilities now and in the future and unless he is living as one of those you feel ought to be able to trust, then every perception he will receive of the nation he presides over will be skewed to one thatis more positive than reality.

the queen of england afterall, must feel that the entire world smells of fresh paint. do you see what i mean?

ultimately poor people, obama included, are motivated by money. money comes from work, work comes from big business. big business is monopolised by rich white men.

you think the London airport received a brand new terminal for the sake of tourism and flying customer's convenience, efficiency and satisfaction? all despite the consequence on people living under the flight path or the green belt that was destroyed and built upon, let alone the deleterious effects upon the environment?

not one bit.... it was coz big bidnis said either build it, or our HQs will move elsewhere. no HQs = no jobs = more poor people = those people chaps like obama are set to serve.

quid pro quo

Time will of course tell, and you are correct, but at least this guy is unlike most of the people in politics who are so out of touch with the reality of life in their country. I think that alone gives us improved odds that he will be different.

Yeah, Paolo I too hope you are proven wrong...I will just be holding my breath in hopes that Obama gets the chance to prove you wrong.
