it is not only israel who are eager for any excuse to kick things off. with such commitments at the oil reserves, there is a certain US vulnerability at the moment.

Yes this is due to oil costs. People loved buying those things because it represented a status..a status minus the hurt at the pump. Americans react and since gas has gone over 2 bucks the suv started to look well..a little overkill. Heck the only ones left driving were the wives of the husbands who want that status..But wives are frugal and yes suv sales are out as a result of the pump.
nothing to do with the US housing situation then? or is that too a consequence of oil prices?

True but europeans dont have the mielage of driving us Americans do. Dont many of you drive smaller cars as normal transportation?? can u say "yugo"
the fact that you know of yugo, suggests that the market for mini cars is not limited to just us. this universality is true also for high mileage drivers and miniscule fuel efficient motors.

i agree fully here. I tell people all the time u have been paying six bucks for awhile now
and it never ceases to amaze us, that y'all complain about what is still such low costs! we figured you all must just get paid next to nothing!

Well we do get paid less for we work more than you. U get what six weeks vacation whereas most get two-three. Plus because we work more hours...we drive more hours creating higher demand on fuel than say you. Simple laws of price in demand. Only difference now is our demand is still high...and prices are even higher than the curve should allow.

Ok off to "Party in the Plazq" good band playing tonight I wanna see

so what are the typical office hours out there? 9 to 5? where i am, my hours are 9.30 to 6, but some will work 9 to 10. so please define your meaning of 'we work more'.

we get 4 weeks plus xmas. but you get more single holidays such as this friday coming... which if it fell on a wednesday or thursday, would essentially mean a half week for you guys no?

this makes no sense, unless your work entails driving, which for most people, it does not and with increased communications technology, should not.

the curve? what curve? its a seller's market is it not? and so it is hardly going to fall in unit price.

in fact, considering the bad press given to fossil fuels, reducing its use would be beneficial for all, if the climate change hype is to be believed.

ah ha.... so your driving to a concert presumably adds to the fuel consumption you attribute to 'work'?
