you would have a point if..... you had already seen at least one female president. do not presume that joy is only reserved for 'down trodden negroes'.
the equalities between the ethnic groups and genders are promoted as being closer than they really are; but despite this, there is still much to celebrate in such regards and yet you berate one and ignore the other, when the obvious reaction ought to be one of pride from yourself.
could it be that as you are a member of neither, you are utterly disconnected and nimbiotically apathetic? i wish i could say i am surprised. nimby-d has rejoined us sadly.

it is all the same; constant public relation efforts inthe face of unrelenting media scrutiny and pressure.
Palin by comparison has much to learn before she is packed off, back into northern, frozen obscurity.
a final note regarding 'celebrity status' as a variable worth derision....
there seems to be many words offered that would suggest that Obama's opposition is Palin. she is not.
who is 'uppity' now?

Apparently this "surge" in iraq has worked to some extent and even obi is saying it would work. Palin is exposing it now.

hhmmmm a sudden change of subject. i acknowledge your withdrawal from this topic.
incidentally, a reduction in iraki violence has already been attributed to a mulitide of things, only one of which is the 'surge'. this has been proven and discussed in the past.
the primary resolution to the violence (which was so brutal and widespread one might suggest its in decline coz everyone is dead) came from Muqtada al-Sadr signing a 6 month truce and commiting his Mahdi army to disband! maybe he should be the VP instead?
and why is palin doing anything? where is McCain?

I like how Palin is exposing it, yeah because she understands foreign policy so well. Not to mention that the other reasons are common knowledge, but please, flesh it out for us, it was probably God's Will that was the biggest factor.[/Uber-SARC]

Actually from what the news was saying last night was once they heard what obama said, "they"(whomever is really running the campaign) wrote the response intently in a hard tone for palin to deliver.
Your gonna see alot of this "woman" thing over the next two months. The gop is going to continue to rub the fact in that obama didnt pick Hillary(who was a strong woman) and they are taking advantage of the fact that people did get used to the idea of a women in the oval office(either pres or vp) so you can expect palin to do alot of the responding to the dems slip ups.... Right now they can play that women card all they want with very little reprocution. She did well at the convention so at this point people will pay attention..perhaps in the wrong reasoning but non the less...attention. which deflates the other side.

Dream on my friend, dream on!
Sarah Palin is certainly great at one thing...fundraising! Since her stellar speech at the convention, she raised about $10 Million in about 24 hours........................
The American people are finding out what a corrupt, psychopathic religious zealot and complete nut she is and responding. In the end this rash decission on McCain`s part to pander to the extreme evengelical freaks is going to bite him and your slimy Republican party in the ass.
Quote:
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Barack Obama's presidential campaign said it raised $10 million Thursday following the Republican National Convention speech by rival John McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton said Palin's address, heavily laced with digs at Obama, prompted an outpouring of donations from more than 130,000 donors.
"We're up over the previous record and the number is still climbing the more Palin's attacks are covered on cable and network news," Obama spokesman Bill Burton said.
The Republican National Committee announced earlier Thursday, at mid-afternoon, that it had raised well in excess of $1 million since Palin's speech. Republicans expect Palin to mobilize their donors. But the Obama camp promptly used the speech as a fundraising hook, sending an overnight e-mail to supporters to contribute.

Ahhhh no no no wait a minute here
First off Im glad to see the celebrity has more money coming in..Im curious whats more profitable, an additional amount of donations due to the reality that they have a true fight on their hands....or the amount "her" and Obama make on those cover shots for all those magazines...
Of course I would expect additional donations. There gonna need it. There is so much on both sides to pick and choose at but there is one factor the dems cant get over so they need more money to pour in.
Obama was not good enought to pick a women, yet McCain was. That women will take the commercial fishing industry and environment vote, the special needs for children vote, steal alot of women and independent votes.
Keep in mind she has nothing to loose at this point...nothing so right now she can call the shots and the gop are more than happy to put that up for sale....
Now...lets see how the dems spend that extra money...Negative campaign adds perhaps?????

And one other thing. If u go to CNN and read what each one is promissing to do, they are the exact same things just with a little twist, both want to lower taxes, McCain wants to double the child exemption tax to 7K(start fucking people its worth it) Obi wants to eliminate oil dependence on the mid east in 10 years, McCain wants to drill offshore,,,again same thing different twist. Neither Candidate is offering anything really honestly different...in the end..in the end.
SO It is going to boil down to....
Do u want a black celebrity who is well spoken, has showmanship, smooth talker with a good ole boy who wont change...or
An old vetran of politics who is well versed in all of that with a female pitbull who might actually shake up the inside ring...
Again I would have voted for Hillary because just like the good ole dems wanted her to step down in the beginning...she didnt! and THAT was all I needed to see.. She had my vote because I like an underdog.
And if you really think it wont happen...Obis lead is chipping away...
CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - McCain chips away at Obama’s lead « - Blogs from CNN.com
And this poll was taken before the convention.....

You're totally wrong MPD, do some more research as their tax plans are completely different. While Obamas will actually lower taxes for the middle class and tax the rich, McSame's will be the exact opposite. You gotta start doing your homework man (And I'm too lazy to give you the links), the points you make often hinge on these fallacies.
And Obama a "good old boy" is a ridiculous statement. Yeah, he's right in there with all the oil men.
