Israel conflict heating up. *thoughts*
I personally, am quite confused of what sparked this whole thing to happen. I read an article on comcast today that said, "424 palestinians killed and around 2000 wounded. 4 israelis killed by rocket strikes earlier." it also goes on to talk about how kids have been decapitated and have had their legs blown off and died by airstrikes while playing in the street.

Through all this, Israel believes they are the victims and president Bush is supporting Israel(My brother said Bush believes who ever supports Israel gets automatic approval to heaven...?). This conflict has sparked protest all around the world, but i havn't heard much about it in America.

Is this whole thing where hundreds have died still about religeon? or is there more to it and i'm missing something. also, what should America do? i think we already have too many of our own problems and need to focus on those. what are your guys thoughts on this?

General News - Hamas calls for revenge as Israel hits Gaza again

Israel says it hit Hamas rocket-maker's home -

i think they just don't like each other? idk, but it's really sad & i can't even begin to imagine what it's like to live over there.

or rather, the palestinians are pissed that they got kicked out & won't stop throwing rockets on those that kicked them out.

Well its religion, politics, & the usual mid east crap. Isreal gave the people Gaza & they elected a terrorist group as their leaders. Hamas has been launching rockets over the border & Isreal is just sick of it. As far as so many civilian casualties that's what happens when Hamas bunkers down in civilian areas on purpose. also keep in mind who is reporting the numbers.

Such is the cycle of violence and revenge. I can understand why Israel would want to retaliate against Hamas, some days there are over a hundred rockets being launched into their country. Does it need to be so heavy handed? I guess at some point you have to say enough is enough.

Personally I think Hamas has the greatest ability to end this conflict if they can police the amount of rockets being sent over into Israel, but history has shown they have no such desire to do such a thing given their use of guerilla tactics. Sadly it is always the civilian population that takes the brunt of the violence, which just further escalates and perpetuates it. And round and round they go.

Hamas - like the majority of the Middle East - hate Israel. They are proud of suicide bombers and urge more people to do so. Israel has been dealing with that nonsense for over 50 years already, this is just the latest wave of attacks.

It's sad that the violence there has been so prolific for so long that no one is surprised at the atrocities that take place there. You hear of the multitude of deaths and loss of civilians and it just seems like the norm.

It's too bad the US is so closely tied with Isreal. I wish for once Europe would deal with the Middle East. Sadly enough I see us getting dragged into another mid east conflict due to usless alliances...

I wouldn't call that alliance useless, it's the only real US ally in the middle east. That and Israel stands for a good cause.

This is a war going back to centuries in the past that has to do with the holy land Israel occupies. Basically, Hamas was not given control of Gaza nor elected but it was a Palestine controlled area given over by Israel that was overrun by Hamas and now under their control. Hamas starts the warfare, asking Israel to give over border control to allow people to go in and out as they please and reality is, if they did this Hamas will still not stop.

They will not stop until the destruction of Israel of a whole and has majority of arabs involved against Israel as well as they do not recognize the country as what it is and want it controlled by Pakistan.

This war will go on forever for Israel whether Hamas or someone else. Personally, I support Israel and don't blame them for firing back. What the Hamas are conducting is cowardly attacks, and ironically when Israel retaliates the world gets in on it and poster childs them up as the guilty side showing mainly the innocent victims that are caught up in the cross fire yet do not show this when Hamas does their routine of dropping hell down wherever they feel like it. Hamas has no directives nor key strategy for eliminating areas of Israel, only to fire randomly and hurt whomever they can within the country whereas Israel aims for taking out their military strategic key points to eliminate their ability to fire anymore rockets into Israel and only then will Israel back away.

No matter how it ends, Israel will always be looked upon at fault by many if not most.

dude , what should we do , if we get inflicte in their war we become a target.
if we sent army's to restore peace , they think we are surpressing them.
i mean if we help we become a target , if we don't help they slaughter each other.
we can do shit, if you would ask to the locals their what they think of america...
they won't say nice things even if america tried to help them.

we should stop playing police in every part of the world, let them handle their own problems
by killing terrorists it won't stop, after every headman we kill their stands an other one...

my opinion , let them bomb each other and let the victims and refugees escape to our countries
after a while they will see sense... i hope
