For all the far righties out there, who would you have picked to run against Obama/Biden? I'm guessing it wouldn't have been McCain/Palin?
Not looking for who would have had the best chance of beating them, just wondering who best represents your own political ideology if you could choose anyone? |

Honestly i would have voted for McCain if he didnt select Palin.
I hate to say it, but im far too intellectual to allow such an outwardly stupid person to govern me. I also kind of wish that Huckabee was the Republican nominee, out of all the guys they had, even though hes a religious nutjob which im not a fan of i think he had some real passion and good ideas.

Ron Paul 100%.
Even though I am canadian... I still have opinion, Shaaa! He is the only dude who is supported by the citizens of the US instead of large father companies such as obama and mccain. McCain either way is a douchefaggot. |

How sad is it that I've watched this thread for two days now and I'm STILL having trouble coming up with someone. Maybe my standards are too high?

I liked Ron Paul... I thought he had real potential to do something good.
Huckabee is WAY too religious to even consider putting in a place of power. He would have started making decisions based on Jesus's heart. McCain is NOT an economist and during a time of great economic crisis, we need somebody who has a better grasp on how the economy works. Plus, McCain is for "less" government regulations... not a good idea when de-regulation is what caused the current crisis. I'm not disappointed with Obama to be honest, so I don't really care that the republican nomination wasn't the correct one. And any right winger that is pissed off, and hoping for the failure of Obama and busy picking him apart... maybe you should be a patriotic American and stand up for your President and support him. |

McCain's a senile knee-jerking reactionary of the old school of thought, even by Republican standards. He's just as dangerous as Palin, maybe even moreso because he just does things based on what consequences of the scenario he imagines in his head.... hence the Palin pick without any regard to common sense or seeking any feedback prior to announcing it.

Ron Paul is a frigging nutjob and shouldn't even be on a municipal school board. Amongst his other looney tunes ideas, his talk about bringing back the gold standard proves to me that he has no idea what he's talking about. It's literally impossible to go back onto the gold standard now, and even attempting it would completely destroy the economy.
That being said, I'm always down to elect my favorite nutjob: Alan Keyes. Why settle for a kinda-black president when you can get the real deal, and one who's a miserable bastard as well? |
