Default Capitalism VS Socialism(email)

Here is an interesting way to explain the difference
Think about this...

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student, but had once failed an entire class.
The class (students) insisted that socialism worked since no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism." "All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade."

After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who had studied hard were upset while the students who had studied very little were happy.

But, as the second test rolled around, the students who had studied little studied even less and the ones who had studied hard decided that since they couldn't make an A, they also studied less. The second test average was a D.

No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average grade was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling, all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for anyone else.

To their great surprise all failed. The professor told them that socialism would ultimately fail because the harder people try to succeed the greater their reward (capitalism) but when a government takes all the reward away (socialism) no one will try or succeed.

IT DOESNT WORK AND IS THERE IS PROOF IN MANY COUNTRIES. if it has worked, WHERE?

Do you really think you're making a point that nobody who favors socialist policies has ever heard? And do you really think that anyone in the US government wants to enact such drastic changes that every citizen gets the same reward out no matter how much work they put in? Examples? How exactly is your little story relevant to what is going on right now?

What's the point of this thread? Who's arguing that Socialism is better than capitalism? Besides there are many examples of thriving countries that use a combination of Socialism AND Capitalism, really no point to the versus argument.

Of course there's no point to this thread because KH is just regurgitating someone else's broken thought process, as usual. Typical of the Rush fanboys.

I saw some dude on the news with a "no socialism" shirt that he drew himself with a sharpy on a white T. It was great. He spelled socialism, "socilism"... hahahaha. Maybe he was in that class that failed!

I'm not responding to this because you're just going to vanish for several weeks while you come up with more of these awful threads. And you won't respond to any of your old ones, just regurgitate new ones.

According to Marx and Engels' writings (pre-Lenin, obviously), the two terms are interchangeable.

Check it.

Quote:
In the terminology of Marx and Engels the words communism and socialism are synonymous. They are alternately applied without any distinction between them. The same was true for the practice of all Marxian groups and sects until 1917. The political parties of Marxism which considered the Communist Manifesto as the unalterable gospel of their doctrine called themselves socialist parties. The most influential and most numerous of these parties, the German party, adopted the name Social Democratic Party. In Italy, in France and in all other countries in which Marxian parties already played a role in political life before 1917, the term socialist likewise superseded the term communist. No Marxian ever ventured, before 1917, to distinguish between communism and socialism.

In 1875, in his Criticism of the Gotha Programme of the German Social Democratic Party, Marx distinguished between a lower (earlier) and a higher (later) phase of the future communist society. But he did not reserve the name of communism to the higher phase, and did not call the lower phase socialism as differentiated from communism.
i would say that the original interpretation of Marxist Socialism is a bit more believable than the Leninist doctrine of separating the two. I would venture to guess that separating the two "isms" was a bit more politically expedient for Lenin and Stalin.
