Banning Kids on Planes
Kids on a plane! - Tips- msnbc.com
Up to now, I thought I read just about every insane topic about rudeness. We all know, and some here are probably guilty of, driving while talking on a cellphone and other forms of rudeness. This tops the list as wtf! As a parent, who flies with his son, it's bullshit that these same asses that talk about banning children from planes and now to ban them from first class, are the same assholes who tend to be rude and pompous themselves. I mean honestly, do you need to bring enough carryons to fill your overhead compartment and mine? And then catch an attitude about it? Or to tilt your seat back enough that you're in my lap, and that's okay? There's a reason why the government has made sure cellphones don't work on planes. Just imagine how bad it would be if you were sitting next to someone talking for 3hrs straight from boarding to landing. |
What the world...needs now...is...empathy.:)

If parents controlled their children we wouldn't have these problems!

You just CAN'T ban kids though, so why even mention it...? |
I can understand it. Too many parents are just plain rude when they bring their kids to various things. They'll bitch about someone bringing their dog and yet their kid is just as much a nuisance or more. Not all parents have this issue, but a little sense would help a lot of them. My biggest pet peeve. Bringing your baby to the movies. Are you kidding me? The kid can't enjoy the movie and all they are going to do is cry at best. Hire a freakin' baby sitter or wait for the movie to come out on DVD.
If you are paying the big bucks for first class, I can see why an airline might try to put a ban like that in place. Not sure if it's right, but I understand it. |
you obviously cant ban kids from planes all together, thats ridiculous. but, after sitting on a flight where a kid was kicking the back of my seat the whole time, after i repeatedly politely asked their parent to make them stop, i can understand some peoples frustration. i think the problem is more with some parents than the kids really.

What ever happened to a good old dose of tolerance? That's the problem with the "me" generation, so self-absorbed that they feel they should be able to control every aspect of their lives including the inconveniences made by others. With the vast amount of technology out there(noise canceling headphones, cell phones, ipods, laptops, PSPs etc.), I have absolutely no sympathy for a person that can't somehow distract themselves for the duration of an average flight.
People need to learn to deal with age old problems like babies on airlines instead of just deciding that things have to now change just because they can't or refuse to adapt. Sure crappy parents make a flight more difficult, but such is life, deal with it. |
Of course everyone needs to just deal with it. people seem to be constantly annoyed with kids whether it be in a restaurant or another public location. i was just saying i understand that sometimes it can be frustrating when it seems like a parent is oblivious to their kids actions and how they affect others. at the same time i can also understand having some sympathy for the parent of a baby who won't stop crying on a plane who is doing everything humanly possible to try to comfort their child. so, it comes down to the fact that there is no solution to making every person happy and comfortable at all times. it is what it is.

So lesson learned...?
Flying with an extreme brat is better than the ol' wooden-wheeled wagon? |
