allow me to advocate a devilish perspective.....
i fess up from the start i've not seen the clip / article (my poota turns to black when clicking the linky dink) and so i have only the thread title to go on (and people's subsequent posts)....
a 72 year old individual is gonna look quite elderly in appearance no?
now i am not saying that all OAPs are nutters, but there is a reasonable probability that a degree of dementure might have set in no?
it is therefore reasonable to conclude, that such a person has as much control over their language and behaviour as say someone with tourettes no?
and so unless the person receiving the voltage was in direct risk of harming themselves or others, no amount of unruly behaviour ought to justify a tasering.
in couver, a 55 year old knife weilding woman, who was clearly under some form of mental impairment was tasered recently. she had a knife and was threatening people (verbally, not chasing them down the street) and so they shocked her. she smacked her head and is now in the ICU.
i suggest this situation is still inadequate to result in 'shock treatment'. tasers seem too readily relied upon. coppers have no communication skills anymore?
Just coz you don't understand it
Doesn't mean it makes no sense!
