What do you guys think about this? I figured this would be the best place to post this. I am wondering how people from outside of the South feel about this.

I nominate a change to the English dictionary for the word Fag to be a derogatory comment towards Klan members.

If you saw a recent episode of Southpark you'll get what I am talking about.

And to be honest my prejudicial side assumed upon reading the title that the Klan was holding a "rally" when in fact they are responding via demonstration, a constitutional right btw.

You can see how the students are having fun in the video. I personally dont find what they are saying bad or anything.

You're right. The constitution does protect them. They may hold a "rally".

The thing that worries me is the whole "the south will rise again". Are they saying they will once again try to split from the union, throwing this country into another Civil war? If so, we all should be worried that these low-standard "educated" rednecks are chanting a call to war over the elimination of a stupid song. Just my 2 cents.

The 'elitist' states would be able to keep their money instead of having the south siphon it off even as they lecture us about 'fiscal responsibility'.

you guys aren't addressing why the song is being removed in the first place. there are still strong racial tensions and prejudice at that school, and the new school leaders are trying to turn the school into a place welcoming of all peoples. that is what the kkk is protesting, not just the song.

Carm, sorry I was in Knoxville for a football game/ interview this weekend.

Yes the song was originally in the lineup, but the president had them take out the south will rise again chant at the end of the song. Students still said it so they pulled the song.

There were 11 KKK members who showed up which surprised me alot due to it being Mississippi and there are a ton of rednecks in MS. There were students who out chanted them and they ended up quiting the rally before it got going.
