With spin like that you should work for Fox News

Also I wouldn't call 5% a narrow margin. It terms of an election, that's a solid defeat. It's not a landslide of course but it's solid. Let this be a lesson to people. DO NOT PISS OFF RED SOX FANS. We're crazy n' shit.

I have a word limit on my cynicism

Lots of folks fell for 'compassionate conversativism'... now we've got the conservative base tea-bagging each other about single payer care and how many innocent Iraqis dead?

Not living up to one's campaigning hype is hardly a model invented by Obama, it's standard issue politics.

Saying he didn't bring 'change' is probably the easiest argument to make. Everyone's definition of 'change' is different. If you're thinking environmental laws, toning down anti-Americanism abroad, international cooperation, putting someone who can tie his own shoes in the White House, and stopping tax cuts for oil giants that make several thousand dollars profit per second (literally), then he brought change. If you're thinking making sense of this totally fucked up healthcare system, getting conservatives to compromise in even the littlest way, or even focusing the huge sums of cash the government spends on something other than killing foreign nationals, then he didn't bring change.

It's just that easy an argument to make. Find one thing that's the same now as it was a year ago, and you've got your 'no change' argument.

Christ MPD, at least have enough confidence in your debating skills to challenge yourself.

exactly ^ People fell for the "compassionate conservative" marketing and then the FEAR FEAR FEAR FEAR marketing also. Neither of those turned out to be true.

Tony - those three countries have the happiest population in the world. I'd rather be happy than a "world power"

Not sure if it will be good or bad but my concern is the environment.

Most things we can screw up and fix. That takes a bit more.

Massachusetts

I did move. But, I still vote. And, your tax dollars support me. Keep smiling.

I served in the military and currently work for the military. So, whatever. Say what you will about patriotism. In late March, I'll volunteer for Afghanistan. My daughter's active duty and sure to go there. So, don't start looking for communists under the bed covers. You might just find your own anxieties.

People in Japan are every bit as happy and much healthier than folks in the U.S. I've lived a long time in both places and understand the stats and anecdotal analysis on a first hand basis. I know that real world analysis really is difficult for you guys but take a breath.

And ask yourself as the snow melts earlier, was it really worth it?

Let's not get into insulting others. You may disagree with Tony but his opinion is just as valid as yours. Please refrain from insults like that.
