People fell for a marketing stunt entitled "change" and now they realize what that truly represented...and it is now showing in their support of obama.
Lots of folks fell for 'compassionate conversativism'... now we've got the conservative base tea-bagging each other about single payer care and how many innocent Iraqis dead?
Not living up to one's campaigning hype is hardly a model invented by Obama, it's standard issue politics.
Saying he didn't bring 'change' is probably the easiest argument to make. Everyone's
definition of 'change' is different. If you're thinking environmental laws, toning down anti-Americanism abroad, international cooperation, putting someone who can tie his own shoes in the White House, and stopping tax cuts for oil giants that make several thousand dollars profit per second (literally), then he brought change. If you're thinking making sense of this totally fucked up healthcare system, getting conservatives to compromise in even the littlest way, or even focusing the huge sums of cash the government spends on something other than killing foreign nationals, then he didn't bring change.
It's just that easy an argument to make. Find one thing that's the same now as it was a year ago, and you've got your 'no change' argument.
Christ MPD, at least have enough confidence in your debating skills to challenge yourself.
I really dont know whats going to be more devastating....a 6.1 aftershock after a 7.0 earthquake in a delapadated part of the world.....or the loss of that seat.....its that critical.
The world is bigger than Western New York. Ask the Haitians what they care about more. Ask me which I care about more, I'll agree with the Haitians.
