Calif state senator says he's gay after DUI arrest
too funny. I feel sorry for him though, and all of the other self hating conservatives. But seriously, are there more in the closet/been exposed republicans than there are openly gay democrats? |

Maybe it's because homosexuality ISN'T actually a choice and it can affect even people who like guns and bibles.

Um. I'm going to kinda disagree with that statement. While some people are born gay, others chose to be (not that it's a bad thing).

Lol...and where you got this information? So for you it's a choice...but only sometimes....
Hilarious.R are not more or less gay then others..they're just afraid they will go to hell for it...so they hiude it. Smart hm? lol That senator is the impersonation of hypocricy. I Do respect him for coming out now thou. I wonder if he's going to cure his gayness with prayers..or became a catholic priest, and cure himself with teenage boys. |

I agree with Sam. It's not necessarily something you're born with. It's a combination of Nature and Nurture that fosters homosexual feelings in a person. I've had this argument a million different times. One of my co-workers compares homosexuality with a mental illness. This is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. It's nothing more than a preference. Some dudes like snowboarder chicks, some dudes like the fat zombies at Wally World, and some dudes just like dudes.

I've asked plenty of gay guys. A large portion of my friends and my family's friends are gay. Some believe it's strictly biological and some don't. Based solely on scientific observation there is no evidence of a "gay gene". If it is in fact there, it hasn't been found yet.
The American Psychological Association had this to say (APA.org Jan 09) "There are numerous theories about the origins of a person's sexual orientation; most scientists today agree that sexual orientation is most likely the result of a complex interaction of environmental, cognitive and biological factors. In most people, sexual orientation is shaped at an early age. There is also considerable recent evidence to suggest that biology, including genetic or inborn hormonal factors, play a significant role in a person's sexuality. In summary, it is important to recognize that there are probably many reasons for a person's sexual orientation and the reasons may be different for different people." Just like I said earlier there are dudes that like skinny chicks and dudes that like fat chicks. Are you going to tell me there's a "fat chick gene"? |

![]() I'm saying there are people who chose to be gay or bi or whatever. (yeah, really.) Because they want to see what it's like and they find they like it. I don't know, you've never met someone like this? And yes, others are born gay. I completely agree. TheseAreTheDayz: I didn't say a combination of the two.
