another thing you can see some people doing is just using the trees cut down to build the house. if they don't allow that, its pretty fucktarded. i have 50 acres of forest... recently, it was deemed wetlands. now i can't do much with it, but i'm cool with that. i still can tap the trees for maple syrup, cut down what i need for fires... really whatever i want as long as its not clear cutting and filling.

i feel like unless its protected land when you buy it, they shouldn't be able to tell you what you can do with it. pretty simple in my mind. now, if you buy land beside a nature preserve or with a certain distance, i could see them telling you not to fuck with it too much... but that should be asking politely... not saying you can't.
