A group in Clackamas County Oregon called "Urban Green" pushing to pass a county ordinance that tells property owners how many trees they can cut on their lands. Im sorry, but think this is total bullshit. While their ideas and thoughts are practical and almost worth it, i really stress the keyword almost. Part of the freedoms given to us by our founding fathers is freedom, and the right to personal property; i.e land. While your neighbor might hate you for clear cutting your property, i believe it is in your rights as a United States Citizen to do what ever the fuck you want to do on your property *within legal limits.
(*obivously not growing drugs, or building a weapons factory; but you get what im saying) Here is the groups website and an article on what they are about. Clackamas County Urban Green Clackamas county group wants county to take better care of trees

Now, let me ask this. If someone were to buy a piece of wooded property to build a house on, and they need to clear more trees than allowed, how are they supposed to clear it to build on? Do they expect you to be able to magically build around the trees? If they manage to make this happen, the county will stop growing, and actually start shrinking.
What I choose to do on a piece of property I own is my business, not the government's. What next, they'll tell me I can't drive my truck because it's not pretty? This is all going too far. They need to stop trying to control our lives. |

This is how it starts.... every time. They tell you that you can't cut down trees one day, and the next day they're putting yellow stars on your sleeves and herding you into government "showers"!!!
