The government needs to tighten up the ship instead of taxing more.

I've worked for local governments for almost 10 years now and the waste I see is unbelievable. I've also worked on the private side and when private contractors do jobs for the government, they get paid extra. The United States government is not ran like a tight company but more like an arrogant group of successful companies who got that way by taking advantage of others.

Local governments have plenty of money coming in if they would pay more attention to what the future may hold and be more conservative.

Another thing that's sickning is the fact that local governments will not roll money over year after year if it's saved... Instead they must blow the money in order to get a bigger budget for the next year.

So if someone needs something and they don't have the money budgeted for that specific year, they can't tighten things up to save money to put with next years budget to purchase said item. Instead the government either goes without, or taxes more.

It's sickning

And I have no idea how a regulation could be put into affect to level the playing field.... With so many companies closing their doors, and our government giving so many breaks to companies I don't know what we can do.

It's been this way for a while though.... Richer gets richer while the middle and lower class keep sinking slowly.

Didn't you see the video where the soldiers lit those guys up from who knows how far away? That's the bad thing about having the best military in the world, we can't beat em. ( =

However I can say that I do my part when working for the government and I conserve as much as possible.

Billions of dollars can be made if the government would just legalize recreational marijuana.

It's legal here in CO.... I personally feel we're a test ground to see how much money it brings in and the results of making it legal.

Whether we want to admit it or not, to many it's a gateway drug. If weed is legal and no big deal, then "bad" things like coke won't seem like such a big deal. I understand the psychological game the government is playing with drugs to keep people off of them, but I don't agree with it all.

That's really a tough one imo..... But I can saying when something is illegal, Americans have a tendency to want to do it more then people from other countries. So maybe this psychological game is proving a bad idea because our drug use in the U.S. is so high.

Its recreationally legal? or medicinally? I know some states are putting it on the ballot for next november.

Prohibition has never worked. Ever. Look at alcohol. People sold it illegally just like people do with marijuana and other drugs.

As for the gateway theory, only people who are uneducated about marijuana believe it.

Oh good lord, don't turn this into a pot = profit thread.

The fact is that this is a free market and there is no way you can get the greedy rich to stop making more money. Clearly, fire-bombing and guerilla tactics are the only things that are going to work. Now duct tape a machete to your 12-gauge and let's friggin' do this!

Medicinally. But it's also legal to have up to an ounce on your body, medicinal or not.

And the gateway theory is bigger then you and I. You've gotta keep in mind that this country is full of people less and more intelligent then us so you have to keep the "retards" in mind. You also have to think about those with addictive personalities. If you've ever been thru the legal system and have been forced or willingly gone to AA, you will know it's out of some peoples control. Some people just don't have the tools to say no, or to stop once they've started... I'm sure you can see how this all ties into what I'm saying.

Fortunately for me, finding myself sitting in jail a couple times and going thru a bunch of classes has helped me see that drug use isn't the path I want to take. Maybe you only smoke weed and you've never done any other drug, or you can say no to other drugs, if so then you're lucky. Not everyone has that luxury.
