Should Videotaping the Police Really Be a Crime?
Should Videotaping the Police Really Be a Crime? - TIME

I personally think pigs NEED to be videotaped to protect the public. Time and time again, video has been the only thing that saves a victim when a police officer decides to be a thug, manufacture evidence, or falsify reports - often to save their own worthless, abusive, dishonest asses from blatant conduct unbecoming or outright criminal activities.

I don't trust cops any more than I trust the perps they hunt down and beat. They're little more than legalized, racist thugs looking to ruin someone's day.

clearly it should not be. and from what i was reading, every time this issue has gone to court, the police have lost.

is it really considered a crime?

in the UK i video'd plenty of coppers during demos etc. and recently a rozzer got busted in Vancouver for pushing a pedestrian to the ground in an unprovoked act, which would never have occurred had it not been captured on camera.

frankly, they can tape us so why not the reverse? those upholding the law need to be found to be higher than it, not working inspite of it.

unless impeding their ability to do their work, i fail to see the problem.

it is illegal in some states to video or audio tape someone without their permission, regardless who the person is. which is funny because all police cars have dashcams. so they're breaking the law apparently.

Taping/recording a private conversation should be illegal.

Recording Police should not be. This is ridiculous. These idiots seem to have forgotten who they work for.

The police are video-taping us every time we get pulled over, why shouldn't we be allowed to video-tape them?

More ego-cop complex issues at hand here.
