And that's the thing about science. Something doesn't work, you go back, use what you've learned and try to make a better attempt. We no longer think sickness is caused by gnomes (or demons... because religious healing is oh so effective) living in your stomach because of science in the first place.

If science doesn't work, then quit your job, because when you are at your job being a 'medical' that's science staring back at you and making it possible.

Speaking of being a 'medical', that's the second time you've cited your work in 'medical' with no further elaboration. You do realize 'medical' is an adjective and not a noun? Medical what? Medical bedpan cleaning? Medical diaper changing? Medical sitting at the computer and making appointments for people who actually are in medicine?

What EXACTLY is it that you are a 'medical' of that makes you a vast repository of knowledge?

You are the one claiming he exists, burden of proof is on you. Otherwise, your method of argument mandates your need to disprove the existence of all other deities to validate the existence of yours.

Myke even you are an atheist. You don't believe in Zues, or Buddha, or Thor, or Avalokitesvara.

I suspect that if we 'had it out' about this, we'd find we essentially agree on all but a few fine word definitions. I was thinking more of the scientific mindset than Big Science. If you think that the world works in a predictable way with reproducible rules, you're also going to find a way to use those rules. Unless you're a physicist

We are defo from the same school of thought..... but for me, innovation is a by-product of scientific endeavour. such as post-it notes coming by accident, following research into a re-usable glue.

i guess my mental mainly stems from a scientific background being more of a 'how?' and 'why?' motivation; rather than being presented with a problem to solve, it was more a quest for pure enlightenment.

from such things, innovation might be realised. kinda like how velcro came into being; no one was looking for an alternative to zips or laces at the time.

Chance favors the prepared mind. - Pasteur

The conversation is now about semantics.

Recognize serendipity and take advantage of it, but don't rely on it.

- All of you are intelligent atheists who love to use profane language
- Fail to recognize the obvious ( the same is said of you)
- You love to "bait questions" and start stupid arguments
- I am a complete fool for believing in God
- I am a idiot not knowing/caring/speculating for how old the earth is
- I am a bigger idiot for not proving the existence of God (Nor can you disprove it either).

In the meantime, I'll take the higher road and sincerely wish you all the best and may you find the truth you believe and are seeking to lead you on a good path.

With that being said - go ahead and take the last word on this thread with your colorful viewpoints.

Peace out,

Mike
