Agree completely. In Canada the media is especially bad about seeking a sound bite that they can freak out about. Then they run in tight little circles screaming "OMG! OMG! Mr X did Y or said Z! OMG! Read our newspaper! READ! READ!"

I watched an interview of our PM a few years back, where he was trying to have a real conversation about real national issues and the reporter just kept pounding him about abortion. Abortion was NOT an issue in that election, nor is Harper particularly hard-line about it. But that's the time of hot-button topic where just about *anything* you say can be made inflammatory. And the reporter was just bound and determined to get something he could screech about.

I think the media should get out of the way and stop editorializing and spinning everything. Just report it straight, like Cronkite used to do. let *us* decide if we want to elect a baby-killer or a theocratic dictator. Let us decide if we want to elect a soulless communist fiscal incompetent or a jingoistic racist homophobic fiscal incompetent.

Hey, maybe without all the spinning, we can get back to just calling them 'democrats' and 'republicans'. Wouldn't that be a treat?

We live in a capitalist society. Nearly everything is privatized. This includes news organizations. Th owners of these organizations are not unbiased reporters, but extremely biased businesspeople. They seem more willing than not to sacrifice integrity and use their companies as mouthpieces for whatever agenda they support. So long as the jobs of journalists are controlled by their political affiliations, they will never be unbiased either. Nor, do I believe, a news company would hire an unbiased reporter in the first place unless they believed they still had something to gain.

No one who gets their news from major organizations, especially television, will ever get the truth. My hope is that people can learn to find raw data and facts for themselves and extrapolate their own opinion. But that flies in the face of the direction our country is taking, what with corporations dictating our lives and inflammatory news personalities telling us what to believe.

In a word; fustercluck.

i'm trying to make sense of that mpd, but the point isn't that it's the individual committing the crime, it's that the church has covered up the crime and allowed it to happen thousands of times in just the past generation, if not more than that. People who support the catholic church are just as morally bankrupt as the organization itself.

New York gubernatorial candidate apologizes for remarks about gays - CNN.com

oh well this makes it all better. Lol. That's like the KKK apologizing for yelling white power. It doesn't make him any less of a vile human.

Where does a bigamist with a no-longer secret second family get off giving child rearing advice?

Here's Paladino's new game plan: Tell Cuomo he's isn't doing enough to PROMOTE gay marriage.

Carl Paladino has game plan to hit Andrew Cuomo on gay marriage, says he's a hypocrite

This guy's lost it, both his mind and the election.
